5 coaches Arizona Cardinals could hire to replace Bruce Arians

If there is one thing that the recent coaching carousels have taught us is that anything can happen with these candidates. Currently that “anything can happen” mentality is pointed at Stanford’s head coach David Shaw.
With Shaw some see the natural path set forth by his predecessor Jim Harbaugh who left Stanford after three successful seasons for the NFL. Harbaugh saw success in the NFL with the 49ers and some think Shaw could replicate that.
There are NFL ties for Shaw who worked with the Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles as a quarterback or wide receiver coach. Should he decide to throw his name in the ring this offseason, it would make sense for the Cardinals to call.
Stanford’s bread and butter under Shaw has been dynamic running backs. Arizona has one of the most dynamic backs in the country. If Shaw could turn David Johnson into what Stanford had with Christian McCaffrey or currently has with Bryce Love the Cardinals would be dangerous.
A year ago Shaw’s name popped up. The Stanford head coach declined all offers and interviews. It is unsure if that will be the case again this year.
