1. Josh McDaniels

His first head coaching gig with the Broncos didn’t go as planned but Josh McDaniels has a chance to redeem himself this offseason. Along with Patricia, McDaniels is another coordinator under Bill Belichick who’s going to have a chance to become a head coach this offseason. I’d argue McDaniels is going to the biggest coordinator candidate as well.

McDaniels survived less than two seasons with the Broncos from 2009-2010 before being fired. He eventually found his way back to New England and became the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2012. McDaniels most notably has worked with Tom Brady for many years but also a number of other fantastic offensive weapons including tight end Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots’ offense has been impossible to stop at times and McDaniels has been a large part because of that. With more experience under his belt, many expect him to try out the head coaching ranks again this offseason.

Teams like the Bears will flock towards McDaniels because of his success with the Patriots. In today’s NFL, rarely do we see many defensive or even special teams coordinators hired. Most of the time it’s offensive coordinators or other coaches on that side of the ball. Every team wants to pass and air out the ball, which McDaniels can help do. He’s another coach who would work great with Trubisky and could utilize the offensive to get Cameron Meredith and the rest of the wide receivers involved.
