IndyCar drivers Conor Daly and Alexander Rossi are taking on new competition Wednesday as Team IndyCar joins The Amazing Race 30 on CBS.

As if being among the world’s best drivers wasn’t enough, Verizon IndyCar Series stars Alexander Rossi and Conor Daly have joined the cast of CBS‘s The Amazing Race.

The duo will compete as “Team IndyCar” on The Amazing Race 30, which premieres Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on CBS.

They’ll go up against 11 other pairs in a race around the world, competing various challenges in different countries with hopes of being the first team to cross the finish line — and lay claim to a hefty $1 million dollar prize.

And for IndyCar fans, it’s more national TV exposure for two of the series’ talented drivers, with a certainty that there will be some entertaining moments along the way. Just watch this preview clip from Wednesday’s first episode:

Alexander Rossi brings name recognition to The Amazing Race as the winner of the 100th Indianapolis 500. He’ll be looking to improve on a Top 10 finish in the 2017 season after also having switched cars with his teammate Marco Andretti; Rossi will drive the No. 27 Andretti Autosport entry in 2018.

There may not be a personality more loveable in IndyCar circles than Conor Daly. Daly hasn’t had the same level of success as his longtime friend and roommate Alexander Rossi, and the hustling Indiana native is still looking for a 2018 ride after A.J. Foyt Racing declined to bring him back for a second year this summer.

But just like he’s thrown himself into every opportunity to run an IndyCar race, Daly is also game for anything that’s come at him off the racetrack. He’s appeared in several of IndyCar’s other big TV opportunities, including ABC‘s Celebrity Family Feud and NBC‘s American Ninja Warrior:

Between Daly’s enthusiasm and Rossi’s ability to remain calm under pressure (remember when he was locked in an escape room with Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan?), Team IndyCar should be competitive on The Amazing Race 30. They’re athletes who are used to lots of physical stress, and they’re both up for just about anything.

Will they win? Who knows, but that’s not the bottom line here. The point is that Daly and Rossi got to take on a worldwide adventure, and that Verizon IndyCar Series fans get to see even more of the league represented on TV in 2018.

And maybe someone else will offer Conor Daly a race seat after seeing him and Alexander Rossi steamroll their way through the world. After all, if Team IndyCar does win, Rossi will be able to call himself both an Indianapolis 500 champion and an Amazing Race champion.
