High Value PG

Ish Smith, DET at MIA ($6,200): Smith has done well as the Pistons starter, hitting value in both contests. He had 26.3 fantasy points in 19 minutes against the Heat on Nov. 12. Smith has shown his scoring chops in both games as the starter and I would expect his assist numbers to remain around five a game during this run. The Heat are 19th against the position in their last 15 games. ****

Dennis Smith Jr., DAL vs GS ($5,500): Smith Jr. has been hit-and-miss all season, hitting value in just 47 percent of contests. He’s played well the last two games, which should do wonders for his confidence heading into Wednesday’s game against the Warriors. He had 23.7 fantasy points against the Warriors back on Oct. 23. That number would put him right around value, but I expect him to be over value as he’s a much better player now than he was then. ***

Ricky Rubio, UTA vs NO ($5,300): Rubio came alive against the Cavaliers, going over 40 fantasy points for the first time since Nov. 11. It’s possible that it was just a one-off, but he’s entering a good matchup on Wednesday. The Pelicans are 26th against the position in their last 15 games. The bad news is that Rubio had just 17.4 fantasy points against them on Dec. 1. I think he’ll be around 25 fantasy points in this one, making him a reliable play. ***
