Alabama. Minkah Fitzpatrick. 10. player. 28. . Defensive Back

The Oakland Raiders were supposed to be a playoff team this season, as they were coming off a 12-4 campaign in 2016. However, the Silver and Black proved to be one of the more disappointing teams in the NFL, and their terrible season cost their head coach his job. Mark Davis fired Jack Del Rio right after the team’s 30-10 regular season finale loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, and Jon Gruden may be coming back to Oakland for the 2018 season.

During the season, the Raiders struggled on both sides of the ball, but the secondary was really bad once again. With their first pick in 2017, the Raiders drafted Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley, but he was of little use this season. Oakland should look to draft another corner with their first round pick in April, and Minkah Fitzpatrick is by far the best cornerback this draft class has to offer.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are playing in their third straight national title game, and Fitzpatrick is a big reason why. Fitzpatrick is the kind of player who can come into the NFL and be a shutdown cornerback from day one, much like we saw from Marshon Lattimore this season. The Raiders need to finally get some leadership in their defensive backfield, and Fitzpatrick is certainly a good place to start.
