The Cincinnati Bengals failed to make the playoffs this season, though they did end the year with a couple wins in a row. That might have saved head coach Marvin Lewis’ job, as the veteran coach agreed to a two-year extension this week. The thought was that the Bengals were going to blow this whole thing up, but that is obviously not the case now that they have brought back Lewis.

With their first pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Bengals should look to get better up front on the offensive line. One name that could be heard early on is Mike McGlinchey, who was an All-American left tackle for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Many believe he is the best offensive tackle in this draft class, and the Bengals cannot afford to miss on this pick.

Cincinnati does have some talent on both sides of the ball, and there is no reason why they cannot be more consistent as a football team. McGlinchey is going to be a stellar player at the next level, and quarterback Andy Dalton could certainly use more big bodies up front in front of him. Joe Mixon proved to be a good running back when healthy during his rookie season, so Cincinnati has pieces in place to be relevant again very soon.
