. Defensive Back. Ohio State. Denzel Ward. 14. player. 49

The Green Bay Packers had a pretty disappointing season, but that was to be expected. Many believed this team was going to be a Super Bowl contender in 2017, and they looked the part early on, before star quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone. The star signal-caller made it all the way back, as he tried to bring his team back to the playoffs, but a loss to the Carolina Panthers ended up putting him back on injured reserve.

Backup Brett Hundley played well at times, but he is no Rodgers, so the team ended up missing the playoffs. They showed that they can still score with anybody, and they should go right back to being a contender in the NFC once Rodgers comes back next season. One area where they could use some help is the defensive backfield, and drafting a cornerback makes sense at No. 14.

With that fourteenth selection, the Packers should think about drafting Denzel Ward from Ohio State. Ward is a good-looking cornerback prospect, who is another in a long line of incredible defensive backs the Buckeyes keep churning out. Green Bay does not have enough talent in the secondary to beat the elite quarterbacks in the league, so drafting a cornerback in the first round makes a ton of sense for the Cheeseheads.
