2018 NFL Mock Draft: Baker Mayfield to Bills
By Brad Weiss
Just a year after having the best record in the NFC, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves on the outside looking in at the NFC Playoffs. One big reason for that was the fact that running back Ezekiel Elliott was suspended for six games, and decided to wait towards the end of the season to serve the suspension. When he came back, the ladder was too tall to climb, and the Cowboys will now go from first seed in the NFC, to watching the games on television.
When it comes time for the 2018 NFL Draft, the Cowboys have a lot of shoes to fill. They will be fine on offense next season, as they should have Zeke for a full 16-game schedule. On the defensive side of the ball, the team got great play from their young secondary in 2017, but the defensive line could use some extra reinforcements as we head to the 2018 season.
With their first pick in 2018, look for the Cowboys to bring in a player like Christian Wilkins from Clemson. The Tigers made it back to the College Football Playoff this past season, and that was mostly due to their elite defensive line. Wilkins was the anchor of that line, playing all over the field, showing that he was the most dominant defensive tackle in all of college football.
