Boston College. Harold Landry. 20. player. 50. . Edge

The Detroit Lions barely missed the NFC Playoffs this season, just a year after sneaking in as a Wildcard team. In fact, the Lions were the best team in the NFC North for much of the 2016 season, and took a bit of a step back in 2017. Quarterback Matthew Stafford had another stellar year, throwing for over 4,000 yards, but that was not enough to get this team to win on a consistent basis throughout.

As Detroit looks towards the 2018 NFL Draft, they have to be thinking about getting better on the defensive side of the ball. One area of need is at the edges, where they could dip into a pretty deep position pool next April. Harold Landry could have been a first round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, but he headed back to Boston College for one more season, and it did not hurt his draft status.

Landry can get the edge as well as any player in this draft class, and the Lions definitely need help there. Playing in the NFC North, you have to have an answer for Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay, and Landry will at least be able to get some pressure on him. He is a very experienced player, and at the next level, he is going to be a standout talent from day one.
