2018 NFL Mock Draft: Baker Mayfield to Bills
By Brad Weiss
The New Orleans Saints won seven games in each of the last three seasons, and the word coming into the 2017 NFL season was that head coach Sean Payton was on the hot seat. Well, the Saints turned their fortunes around this season, becoming one of the better teams in the NFC, and they did it in much different fashion than they are used to. Instead of throwing the ball 50 times and playing no defense, this team was based around the running game, and their defense was the best it has been in years.
The running back tandem of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara was incredible all season long, as both had over 1,500 all-purpose yards. That enable Brees to get more comfortable in the pocket, and the wins began to pile up. When they pick in the first round next April, it could be late in round one, and they may go defense once again.
Last year, they selected cornerback Marshon Lattimore out of Ohio State, and he proved to be one of the better players at his position in all of football. With their top pick in April, look for the Saints to add a pass rusher, and Sam Hubbard from that same Ohio State would be a solid pick this late in round one. Hubbard recently declared for the NFL Draft, and he will likely hear his name called before the first round is over.
