2018 NFL Mock Draft: Baker Mayfield to Bills
By Brad Weiss
During the 2015 NFL season, the Carolina Panthers made it all the way to the Super Bowl. However, they would end up being thrashed by the Denver Broncos, though they did head into last year with a ton of expectations. When ended up happening is the team was really bad, and missed the playoffs, as they were one of the more disappointing teams in all of football.
Heading into 2017, the Panthers had renewed hope, as star quarterback Cam Newton had successful surgery on his throwing shoulder. The team also did a nice job bringing in more talent around him, including Stanford star running back Christian McCaffrey. Thanks to these additions, the Panthers now find themselves back in the playoffs, and have enough talent on both sides of the ball to make a serious run to their second Super Bowl in the last three years.
When it comes time for them to draft in April, they should look to bring in an offensive lineman, as you can never have enough protection up front for Newton. Kolton Miller from UCLA has been protecting Josh Rosen’s blindside for the last couple of seasons, and now they could both find themselves going in round one in 2018. While Rosen will likely go early, Miller will be later in round one, which is great news to a team like Carolina.
