2018 NFL Mock Draft: Baker Mayfield to Bills
By Brad Weiss
While the Philadelphia Eagles are the No. 1 seed in the NFC, you will find it hard to find anybody outside of the City of Brotherly Love who are actually confident about their chances to go all the way. Star quarterback Carson Wentz was having an MVP season when he tore his ACL a couple of weeks back, and the team will have to now roll with Nick Foles under center. Foles has been very bad the last two starts, so you have to wonder just how far this team can go.
Philadelphia does have home-field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs, so that is certain to help. The Eagles have some of the best fans in the NFL, and you can be the Linc will be rocking. Aside from Wentz, star left tackle Jason Peters also tore his ACL this season, and the team has to be thinking about bringing in some depth at the position in April’s draft.
That pick could wind up being Martinas Rankin, who is an incredible talented left tackle for Mississippi State. Rankin was an All-Conference selection for the Bulldogs, and has the size and feet to stay on the left side at the next level. Philadelphia has to start thinking about life after Peters, and Rankin could be someone who comes right and fills that void from day one.
