4. Da’Ron Payne – Alabama defensive tackle

Da’Ron Payne has wasted no time stealing the spotlight in the College Football Playoff thus far. When the Alabama Crimson Tide needed a spark against the Clemson Tigers, he was there to provide it and more.

His improbable interception will go down in history in the minds of Alabama fans. To cap off his big defensive play, he went out and caught a touchdown on the very same drive and showed great receiver skills getting his feet in bounds.

While it was a fun time watching him on offense, his value as a defensive lineman is the reason he’s one of the top draft prospects leading in the NFL Draft in 2018. It shouldn’t be shocking an Alabama defensive lineman is expected to go high.

He is a huge individual with the athleticism to match his size. He helps shut down the run game up front and as seen against Clemson, can move around with his size which makes him an even more popular prospect.

With the number of talented running backs in the NFL, loading up on great defensive linemen is an absolute must right now. Payne is just another one to keep an eye on when it comes to having an impact in the National Championship Game.
