Each NFL team’s Olympic candidate

Detroit Lions: Marvin Jones, Freestyle skiing
After three seasons to start his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, Marvin Jones has found himself a home with the Detroit Lions. He’s on pace to amass his first 1,000-yard receiving season of his career and already has eight touchdowns to go along with it. Jones is by far Matthew Stafford’s favorite target and a great one in that. If you’ve seen some of the catches he’s made this season, they speak for themselves.
Jones has Julio Jones and A.J. Green-like talent. He’s a receiver that has the skills to win the 50-50 balls over defenders and makes it look easy. For a quarterback, you can’t love it more when your receiver is able to do that. Jones and Golden Tate make for one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL and a big reason to why Matthew Stafford is the highest paid quarterback in the NFL right now. Jones is so talented on the football field but could that translate over the Olympics? I think so and in an interesting way.
It may be a little of a stretch here but I’d like to see Jones participating in freestyle skiing. I mean, it makes sense if you think about it. Jones is already good at jumping up in the air and making acrobatic catches. Put a pair of skis on him and it’s almost the same thing. Jones might even find out that he’s better with that than one the football field. He could pull a Calvin Johnson move just to get out Detroit and go to South Korea instead.
All I’m saying is that it would be entertaining simply because Jones is such a special athlete.
