Atlanta Falcons: Julio Jones, Ski Jumping

Sorry, Matt Ryan but you aren’t getting the nod here. When thinking of a potential Olympic candidate for the Falcons it would be insulting to choose against the best receiver in the NFL. Patrick Peterson may be a special talent but I’d argue Julio Jones is even more special. What he can do on a football field is unlike many other players we’ve seen in the history of the game.

I’m not sure I even have to say much for Jones, the numbers speak for themselves. He’s totaled four straight seasons of 1,000 yards receiving including 1,871 in 2015. Ryan can contribute all of his success to Jones. It doesn’t matter how good of defense you have on Jones at times, he always seems to come up with an even better offense. That’s a testament to how talented he really is. Even in the tightest of windows, Jones finds a way to get both feet in bounds and make the catch. He’s given defensive coordinator fits for seven seasons now and would fair very well if given a chance in the Olympics.

Like Peterson, I’m not sure Jones would get the nod for his speed, but rather his footwork and explosiveness. Pair that with some skis and you have a deadly combination. That explosive It would be quite a spectacle to watch that happen and Jones would have a ton of success doing it.
