Each NFL team’s Olympic candidate

New Orleans Saints: Alvin Kamara, Freestyle skiing
We’ve seen some talented rookie offensive players this year but Saints running back Alvin Kamara may top them all. The third-round pick has been an absolute steal this season, totaling close to 1,500 total scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns. Kamara is a rare dual-threat talent that makes him worthy of Olympic candidacy for the Saints. He’s the one I’m going with from this roster.
Kamara has slowed down in recent weeks but has been a huge part of the Saints offense this season. Paired with Mark Ingram, the two have dominated the ground game and taken a lot of pressure of Drew Brees and his arm. The result has been incredible production. He’s made a case for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and will battle Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt for that award.
Kamara is a Todd Gurley-like player. He’s not the biggest back coming out of the backfield but makes up for it with his tremendous speed. Handoffs or screen passes Kamara is going to take it for six points if he’s got the running room. We’ve seen him make plays out of nothing and that’s an intangible not many running backs have in the NFL.
The Saints can sleep well knowing they’ve found their franchise running back for years to come. Kamara would be a hybrid kind of athlete that could be used in a number of different ways. I think he’d be best utilized participating in freestyle skiing. His jukes and spin moves are just as easy to do on skis, I think.
