Philadelphia Eagles: Alshon Jeffery, Cross-country skiing

Alshon Jeffery was a borderline top receiver with the Chicago Bears during the early parts of his career but he nor the team were able to really get to the next level. That changed when Jeffery signed an offseason deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. After a bit of a slow start at the beginning of the season, Jeffery has come into his own and became a top receiving option for the Eagles this season. His athletic ability and talent on the football field make him the team’s Olympic candidate if I’m picking.

If there’s anything Jeffery is good at and has proven again this season, it’s that he has no problems catching touchdowns. Big plays or in the red zone Jeffery is a player you can feel confident in throwing the football to. He’s someone who can break a tackle for a big gain or body a defender in the end zone for the easy touchdown. It was a part of the reason why Carson Wentz had so much success and why the Eagles quickly locked up Jeffery to an extension. He’ll be doing the same for the Eagles in years to come.

Looking at Olympic events, I’d believe Jeffery would be a good cross-country skier. With his size, he takes huge strides and you need that with cross-country skiing. It’s a grueling event but helps when you have the wing span that Jeffery does.

The Eagles are looking to make a deep postseason run and Jeffery is looking to add a Super Bowl title to his resume this year. Maybe an Olympic medal wouldn’t be too farfetched either.
