Pittsburgh Steelers: Antonio Brown, Figure skating

I know Antonio Brown has been hurt the final two weeks of the regular season but he’s the NFL’s best wide receiver when healthy. The former sixth-round pick now has five straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons and is one of the most dangerous weapons a team can have.

Brown is just that good. I’m not sure how he fell into the sixth-round but he’d be a bonified No. 1 overall pick if teams knew his real potential. Brown is an extremely special talent and is virtually impossible to cover from a secondary standpoint. Even when he’s not having his best game, Brown is still a wide receiver opposing defensive coordinators lose sleep over. If given the touches, he can go for over 200-yards on any given week and that’s not an exaggeration.

The most impressive part of Brown’s game is his footwork. Even with perfect coverage, he can still get two feet in to make the catch. We’ve seen it time and time again and at this point, there is nothing defenders can do. It’s just the case of good defense beaten by an even better offense. All you can do is sit back and marvel at how good Brown is.

While on the topic of footwork, maybe Brown’s talents could make him an Olympic figure skater? He’s light on his feet and once the basic technique is down, he can do the rest with his natural talent. All types of dance, even figure skating, can be related back to quick and agile feet. It’s stretching things but I reckon Brown could make it happen if taught.
