Washington Redskins: Chris Thompson, Luge

A broken leg prematurely ended his 2017 but running back Chris Thompson was the Washington Redskins top offensive weapon and the surefire Olympic candidate. Standing at only 5-8 don’t let Thompson’s height fool you, he’s an all-purpose back that can do just about everything for the Redskins’ offense. All he needs is one touch of the football.

Watching Thompson on the football field, he’s a Darren Sproles kind of talent. A player that you wouldn’t expect as your prototypical running back, but one that’s extremely agile and can make defenders miss with just one move in the open field. We’ve seen Thompson make some nasty moves on his way to big-play touchdowns during his career. That kind of play changes games and the Redskins have missed that in Thompson’s absence.

Given Thompson’s size and his bounce and size, he’s going right to the luge event in the Winter Olympics. It makes the most sense and Thompson has the coordination to maneuver around on a sled like not many can.
