player. 30. . Quarterback. Wyoming. Josh Allen. 6

Before the start of the 2017 NFL season, the New York Jets looked to be a team setting themselves up for failure. The organization traded away most of their veteran talent, and would go into the year with a bunch of young players at some key positions. One position with a veteran was the quarterback spot, where the team brought in Josh McCown to get the job done.

Well, McCown ended up having a career-year, and wide receiver Robbie Anderson had a breakout campaign. While McCown is certainly a good placeholder, the Jets need to find a long-term answer at the position, and they may look to draft a quarterback with their first round pick. At No. 6, the odds are Josh Allen from Wyoming may be available, and the Jets need to pounce on him if he is.

The more tape I see on Allen, the more excited I feel about the fact that he could be a top player at the next level. He has all the size and arm strength that you look for in a quarterback, and with good NFL coaches around him, he could be very successful early. The Jets may want to consider keeping McCown around until he is ready, which would give the youngster an opportunity to learn under one of the more professional quarterbacks out there.
