. Wide Receiver. SMU. Courtland Sutton. 8. player. 57

The Chicago Bears were not supposed to be a good team this season, and after injuries to Cameron Meredith and Kevin White, they figured to be pretty bad on offense. With another bad season, the thought was head coach John Fox would be fired, and that came to fruition after the season. Chicago hired Matt Nagy to be their main man going forward, and he has a lot of work to do if he is going to turn this thing around.

One thing he does have is a good young quarterback, as Mitchell Trubisky proved he has what it takes to be a solid player in this league. Playing without both Meredith and White, Trubisky was able to navigate his first professional season, and the team does have a solid running back in Jordan Howard. Heading into 2018, the Bears need to do something to improve at wide receiver, and Courtland Sutton could be the answer.

During his time at SMU, Sutton did not get a ton of publicity, but he certainly will during the NFL Draft season. The speedy wideout can not only take the lid off the defense, but he also is not afraid to go over the middle. While Calvin Ridley is a solid option as the first wideout off the board next April, I like the Bears to select Sutton with the eighth overall pick.
