2018 NFL Mock Draft: Giants, Jets gets QBs
By Brad Weiss
Prior to the trade deadline, the San Francisco 49ers swung a deal with the New England Patriots to pick up Jimmy Garoppolo. That move turned out to be a stroke of genius, as once inserted into the starting lineup, Jimmy G did not lose a game. In fact, dating back to his time with the Patriots, Garoppolo has yet to lose a game in which he started, which is great news for 49ers fans going forward.
It is quite possible that Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley will go No. 8 to the Chicago Bears, as they certainly need some help at that position. However, if the Bears do decide to select Courtland Sutton in their spot, you can be sure that Ridley is not going to last much longer. In fact, if the San Francisco 49ers beat the Oakland Raiders in their coin flip to see who picks ninth, Ridley could be matched up with Garoppolo in the Bay Area.
Ridley has been a monster during his time at Alabama, and has really established himself as a big-time player. He would be a perfect compliment to Jimmy G in San Francisco, giving Garoppolo another solid option in the passing game. San Fran is going to be pretty good next season, and Ridley could play a big part in their success.
