NBA Mock Draft: Jaren Jackson Jr. could help end the Magic’s never-ending rebuild
Minnesota needs all the two-way talent it can get to fill in their second-unit. Alkins is one of the better options in the entire first round, and the Timberwolves would be lucky to get him where they pick.
Alkins is a strong finisher and sturdy on-ball defender, and his return has bolstered Arizona after early-season struggles. The sophomore posted 22 points and 7 rebounds in a win over Utah, the Wildcats’ second in Pac-12 play.
He is shooting only 33 percent from distance so far this season but has otherwise improved massively, shooting over 60 percent on 2-pointers and increasing both his efficiency and usage simultaneously. Alkins will continue to turn heads if Arizona can finish the season better than in years past, with teammates Allonzo Trier and Deandre Ayton forming a trio as talented and productive as any in the country.
