4. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

As the playoffs neared every NFL experts was saying the same thing, “if the Falcons get into the playoffs they are dangerous.” After their victory over the Rams on Saturday we can see why.

When this Falcons team is at its best you can see what carried them to the Super Bowl a year ago. Matt Ryan is coming off a mediocre season but has stepped up in big games throughout his career. This offense features a handful of exceptional skill position players as well.

The fact that the Falcons are a favorites in Philadelphia also speaks to the disparity in quarterback play between Ryan and Foles. The Falcons were that team all season that did not make sense why they were not 12-4.

The loss of offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to the 49ers this past offseason really took its toll on Ryan who went from an MVP award to 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and an almost 20-point dip in QBR.

Despite the bad season, it is hard to put Ryan any higher on this list than number four. He was extremely efficient against the Rams last weekend and will look to carry that momentum against a very soft Eagles secondary. The Falcons are looking to get back to the Super Bowl and a lot of that will fall on the play of Ryan in the coming weeks.
