Ski Jumping: “Fly Like an Eagle” – Steve Miller Band

I mean, who doesn’t love The Steve Miller Band. Nobody knows where he’s from, what he looks like or who is even in the band, but his signature song (no, not The Joker, Batman Val Kilmer), “Fly Like an Eagle” is the only song that works for ski jumping.

Again, another terrifying event I want no stinking part of. Not only are you dealing with ice, but you are openly choose to ski off a slide and be dozens of feet in the air for a few seconds. No way you could make me do that, but I certainly will watch the whole shebang while cranking some Steve Miller Band.

Even though time keeps on slipping into the future in this iconic 1970s classic hit, time isn’t really what this event is about. It is about jumping higher and farther than everybody else. This is measuring contest everybody can get behind. It’s even better when some tries to do it that has no business doing it, kinda like Englishman Eddie the Eagle.

Odds are, some corporation has used this Steve Miller Band song on top of some ski jumping action to push their product or whatever. I wouldn’t really blame them. Ski jumping and “Fly Like an Eagle” just go hand in hand. What other song could you possibly even think about including here anyway? Just stop. It’s “Fly Like an Eagle”, man.
