2018 NBA Mock Draft: Luka Doncic could accelerate the Hawks’ rebuild

The Nets, despite trading away their entire future for Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, enter the 2018 draft with several team-building avenues available to them.
The most exciting thing to me about Brooklyn right now is the way they’ve shaped players like Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Caris Levert into swiss army knives on offense. Eventually, this player development strategy could manifest itself in a truly revolutionary way, especially if coach Kenny Atkinson continues to encourage all of his players to shoot 3s.
Bonga is far away as a player, but he has shot 30 percent from distance this season across both levels of Fraport’s program and dishesd nearly four assists per game. He has the longest wingspan of any ball-handler in this draft, and could really fit in any role under the right coach. Atkinson seems like the perfect guy to unlock him.
Watching Ben Simmons this year is all the evidence you need that a tall, long-armed, athletic point guard can be a devastating building block for an offense.
