Much of the NBA world has been focused on the numerous  altercations of late. The Clippers and Rockets tomfoolery. Bjelica versus Afflalo. Ibaka versus Bloodsport. Rodney Hood versus phone.

And while we at Fastbreak Breakfast take pride in usually focusing on divergent topics, today is not that day. Because we find these [almost] fights really dang funny.

So to reflect on the many recent brouhahas we turned to someone who has seemingly been enjoying them as much as we have, Seerat Sohi (@damiantrillard). Seerat is an NBA writer for SB Nation, The Athletic Toronto, The Step Back, and several other sites. She also lobbed the tweet of the year (according to CBS Sports) regarding last week’s incident at the Staples Center:

In addition to addressing whether or not she believes the official version of that encounter, which found Chris Paul and James Harden absolved of any wrongdoing, she weighs in on the following topics:

  • Could one (certainly not either of us) refer to James Johnson’s punches against Serge Ibaka as “undisciplined?”
  • At what point did Arron Afflalo realize he had made a huge mistake?
  • Why wasn’t Blake Griffin suspended for running into Mike D’Antoni? Is there a conspiracy afoot?
  • Has the early start to the season contributed to the number of incidents recently? Are players just a little burned out and ready for the All-Star break?
