You’re seeing a trend here, right? Georgia has another big guy, another five-star commit and another early enrollee. The guy we will talk about here is offensive tackle Cade Mays. At 6-foot-6, 318 pounds, he’ll certainly stand out among the many Athenian college students on campus in the Classic City.

Mays garnered a 0.9909 rating from 247Sports as a part of the 2018 recruiting class. He is the No. 1 player from Tennessee, the No. 2 offensive tackle prospect in the nation and the No. 16 player nationally. With a guy like Pittman coaching him up front, Mays could be able to compete for playing time very early in his Georgia career, especially since he enrolled early.

So what makes him such an important commitment for the Bulldogs? Well, it’s not just the size and the position he plays. Georgia was able to land him in the belly of the beast that is Tennessee Volunteers football. It’s more about Tennessee football being a total grease fire the last decade than anything. The Volunteers got a great recruiter and defensive mind in their next head coach in Jeremy Pruitt, but it will take time for him to have Rocky Top back on top.

In the meantime, Mays could be like a Stinchcomb brother in Athens, just messing around with edge players and dominating them all the while. Mays has the frame, the coach and the gusto to sign with a major rival school of his hometown. Look for him to be a focal point in the Georgia-Tennessee rivalry for the next few years.
