WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 5 signs a SmackDown superstar will win
1. Roman Reigns is destined to be in the RAW main event at WrestleMania
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Roman Reigns will be in the main event of WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar in a few months.
This match has almost been set in stone since last year’s WrestleMania wrapped up. This build for Reigns has been going ever since his win over the Undertaker in last year’s main event on the same night Lesnar defeated Goldberg for the Universal Title, and it continued with Reigns’ win over Cena in October.
Reigns has already won the Royal Rumble match once to lead toward a title shot against Lesnar before, and it’d be a nightmare for WWE if they try to replicate that same build. Their best bet is to have Reigns win an Elimination Chamber or just challenge Lesnar straight up on RAW for the title match. Either way, why waste the Royal Rumble win on Reigns when we already know that match is coming?
Add in the element of a hostile Philadelphia crowd, already hyped up and energized for their Philadelphia Eagles making it to the Super Bowl, and it doesn’t bode well as far as a crowd reaction goes if Reigns has any success on Sunday in the Rumble match.

With the Lesnar-Reigns battle all but guaranteed for a WrestleMania main event, it almost eliminates any possibility of a RAW superstar taking home the win on Sunday. The only real chance would be a Finn Balor win and a trade over to SmackDown to take on A.J. Styles in a Bullet Club battle at WrestleMania.
With all that in mind, the golden opportunity then transfers over to the SmackDown roster, where anything is possible once their field comes into the ring.
