The Indianapolis Colts fired their head coach after the 2017 NFL season, as Chuck Pagano was let go of head coaching duties after the team’s 3-13 season. He will likely be replaced by New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who will be making his second stint as a head coach. McDaniels had a rough go of it as the head coach in Denver back in 2009-10, and appears ready to tackle the Colts job head on.

If McDaniels is going to have any success, this team needs to have a healthy Andrew Luck under center in 2018. There was speculation that Luck would be back at some point in the 2017 NFL season, but he was shut down with a shoulder injury. Luck had surgery on his throwing shoulder in January of last year, and was expected to be an active player last season, and questions still remain about his health moving forward.

If the Colts do have Luck back in 2018, they should look to spend their first round draft pick on the defense. Bradley Chubb from N.C. State is the best edge rusher in this draft class, and the Colts definitely need help in that role if they want to be competitive in the AFC South. The Colts have to play guys like Marcus Mariota and Deshaun Watson twice a season, so being able to get pressure up front has to be a priority for the team at this point.
