2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen goes to the Jets
By Brad Weiss
The Denver Broncos stumbled through a rough 2017 season, and there were even rumblings that Vance Joseph might be a one-and-done coach. The team decided to bring Joseph back for at least another season, and now the focus shifts to making this roster better. There is no true front-runner for the quarterback position, though Paxton Lynch will get a chance to secure the job, and the offensive line needs work.
Heading into next season, the defense is still in good shape, and they should be able to win games if they can improve the offense. Running back C.J. Anderson had a decent season running the ball, and if they can get someone in there who can throw the ball, they will be in good shape. However, no matter who is under center next season, they need more help up front, and that starts at the guard position.
If the Broncos do decide to draft a guard, then the obvious choice will be Quenton Nelson from Notre Dame. Nelson may actually be the best offensive lineman in this draft class, and the Broncos showed last year they have no problems drafting offensive linemen in the first round. This Broncos team has enough talent to win games next season, and whoever comes in to play quarterback, will be grateful the team added such a talented lineman in Nelson.
