Dallas Mavericks
Send: Nerlens Noel, 2018 second round pick
Receive: Jon Leuer, Guerschon Yabusele, 2018 first round pick
Here comes another three-team deal! The Mavericks did not get what they were hoping for from Noel, who has been a disaster in Dallas. The former Kentucky big has been in Rick Carlisle’s doghouse for months, and won’t be returning to Dallas next season. Moving him to Boston, as part of a trade with the Detroit Pistons, is a chance for them to pick up a late first round pick for a guy that holds little to no value for them on their roster.
They get to take a chance on Yabusele, who doesn’t have a future in Boston with Semi Ojeleye on their roster, and get a rotation player in Leuer who could succeed in Carlisle’s system with his ability to shoot.
