93. . G. IMG Academy. Anfernee Simons. 21. player

The Sixers don’t quite need a Nik Stauskas replacement, but Simons heads to Philly here to both bolster their shooting and give them one more shot at an upside first-rounder before they enter the stage of team-building in which teams tend to give up their picks and use them more safely.

Simons has some Kemba Walker and Damian Lillard in his blood. His offensive game derives from his ability to make pull-up jump shots, which could some day make him a maestro in the pick-and-roll. At 18 years old, he already has a crafty package of floaters for the in-between part of the court that defenses will give him driving to the rim.

The hope for Philadelphia picking Simons is that he can become effective off the ball. The last thing the Sixers need is another young, ball-dominant player. Markelle Fultz’s future is unknown at this point, but add him to Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and there’s only so many possessions left for the rest of the team’s offense.

At this point in the draft, if the Sixers want to shoot high, Simons should be their guy.
