1. Tulsa Oklahoma — Tulsa Twisters

Oklahoma is an untapped professional football market. The Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys both are major players in college football. Both schools draw large crowds with passionate fans, there would not be an issue supporting a professional team. Tulsa is the second largest city in Oklahoma, trailing behind Oklahoma City. The lack of professional football, passionate fans and large population is a recipe for success.

The name Tulsa Twisters is in reference to Oklahoma being in tornado alley. Another interesting fact that makes this name work is that the movie “Twister” was filmed in Oklahoma. A dark grey color scheme with red undertones would symbolize the storm clouds of a twister and the red would the into the local Oklahoma Sooners. It would be wise to avoid any type of Midwest cowboy references. Both Oklahoma and Oklahoma state are using the theme traditional Midwest theme and  adding another piece to the mix would seem repetitive. The Oklahoma City Thunder are the only other professional sports team in the state.
