National Signing Day 2018: Predicting where the top 25 uncommitted recruits sign
- High School: Long Beach Poly
- Composite Ranking: No. 162, No. 13 S
Aashari Crosswell is another top safety talent that will be up for grabs on National Signing Day. the 6’1″ safety comes in with plenty of hype and can do just about anything that is asked of him. Long Beach Poly has had some great recruits in the past, and they offer more up this year.
Right now, it looks as if the Arizona State Sun Devils are the favorites for his services. During the first year of the Herm Edwards regime and the new model of running a program that the Arizona State is rolling with, this is going to be an interesting day to follow.
How much are recruits going to buy into this new model that the program is selling? For Crosswell, he would be a much-needed addition to a defense that is looking to turn things around. Phil Bennett did a great job in his one year with the Sun Devils taking a terrible unity and making them look exceedingly better.
However, Bennett is gone and now Danny Gonzales takes over after his tenure with San Diego State. The Aztecs have seen some good defenses under the watch of Gonzales and being a California guy as well is a big reason the Devils wanted to bring him in.
Crosswell also would have a much clearer path to a starting role and more playing time than say at a USC. He should end up being one of the top players that the Sun Devils bring in on National Signing Day.
Prediction: Arizona State
