Another player that could find his way to Arizona State is four-star outside linebacker Merlin Robertson. He’s yet another California product that the Sun Devils are hopeful they can bring in to add to their defense.

The Junipero Serra product would provide a boost in the pass rushing department to the Sun Devils and give their new regime yet another key defensive piece they can look to build around for the future.

It’s still possible however that USC could land the local product as well with a strong push. It’s just a matter of which program is going to offer him the best chance to succeed at the college level with a clear path to playing time.

Robertson had a visit to Arizona State and told 247sports that he has a strong relationship with Antonio Pierce and really liked coach Edwards. The Sun Devils have brought Pierce into the fold to help land recruits and this would perhaps be his best thus far.

Anything can happen on National Signing Day, but things are pointing toward Arizona State getting a couple of impact defensive players at the very least.

Prediction: Arizona State
