Barrett Hayton – Stock up

Barrett Hayton plays a steady game. He doesn’t have many highlight reel moments, but he is great in all three zones. Because he isn’t flashy it sometimes can hurt his draft stock. A NHL player to compare his style to is Patrice Bergeron. Hayton is ranked 12th by TSN which is the right place to slot him. He is likely to go just outside the top-ten and that team will be lucky to have him. Hayton showed why he is a great prospect during the game, continuing strong performances for Hayton could launch him in to the top-ten and fill out a team’s roster at the center position.

Barrett Hayton plays on one of the best teams in the entire CHL the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. He can often get overlooked on that talented team. The Prospect’s game was his opportunity to step out and show the scouts what he can do on his own. He did not disappoint. Hayton was able to add two assists during the game and held great possession in the offensive zone. Both of his assists his great vision and passing ability were on display. Hayton also displayed his skating talent by making great drives down the middle of the ice to open passing and shooting lanes.
