Nothing will be worse news for the Grizzlies this week than the news that Mike Conley Jr. will miss the remainder of the season with a heel injury. Conley Jr. has been out since Nov. 13, and the team seems destined for a bottom-five record in the league with their franchise point guard on the shelf. Without Conley, the Grizzlies are going to have to get contributions from whomever they can find — on Monday, that help came from Myke Henry, who had nine points in the fourth quarter to help spark a comeback win over Philadelphia. Tyreke Evans had 10 points in the fourth as well, and the Grizzlies picked up their sole win for the week, 105-101.
Pau and the Spurs had the upper hand over younger brother Marc, with the Grizzlies losing 108-85 at home. The Grizzlies made just two 3-pointers, likely not what their game plan called for. Pau improved to 17-10 in games against Marc with the win, and they have the possibility of playing each other one more time this season in March. The Grizzlies shooting woes continued in their 109-100 loss to the Clippers on Friday, as they shot just 30 percent on 27 3-point attempts while Lou Williams exploded for 40 points off the bench for Los Angeles.
