2018 NFL mock draft: Baker Mayfield heads to Jets
By Brad Weiss
The Pittsburgh Steelers failed to make it back to the AFC Championship Game this season, as they lost a tough one at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round. Luckily for Steelers fans, it looks like the entire crew will be back in action next season, as the team is expected to sign Le’Veon Bell to a long-term deal. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has already committed to coming back next season, so they have the talent to make another deep run in the playoffs.
Last year, the Steelers drafted T.J. Watt in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, adding some much-needed youth to their defense. In 2018, they should look to continue to add youth to the group, though this time drafting someone in the secondary. Ronnie Harrison from Alabama is one of the best safeties this draft class has to offer, and he should be a first round selection in April.
Harrison is a big reason why the Crimson Tide won two of the last three national titles, as he served as the last line of defense in the secondary. He has incredible speed, and is not afraid to come up and make the big hits. In addition, he has the pass-catching ability that you do not normally see from a young defensive back, and would slide in as a starting safety next season in Pittsburgh.
