2018 NFL mock draft: Baker Mayfield heads to Jets
By Brad Weiss
Maybe the biggest story of the AFC Playoffs was the run made by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coming into the season, many people expected the Jaguars to finish near the bottom of the AFC South, as they struggled mightily in recent seasons. However, the Jaguars were the class of the division in 2017, and made a remarkable run through the AFC that eventually ended with them losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
Still, this is an organization trending in the right direction, and they have the defensive talent to be a force for the next couple of seasons at least. On offense, the team made the right draft choice in the first round last year by selecting running back Leonard Fournette, who was a dominant force for their offense in year one. They should look to add another offensive player in the first round in 2018, though this time they should add talent up front on the offensive line.
Billy Price has done it all during his time at Ohio State, serving as a guard, and a center. In fact, he was the best center in the Big Ten last season. However, he should be moved to guard at the next level, and he should find a spot on the starting line in Jacksonville in 2018 if they go that route. They may trade up to get a quarterback, as Blake Bortles is not the answer long-term for the team, but if they stay this late in round one, they should go offensive line.
