The Indianapolis Colts were expected to be the team to beat in the AFC South for years to come with Andrew Luck at quarterback, as he has established himself as one of the best in the game over the last couple of seasons. However, Luck had surgery on his throwing shoulder last January, and never made it back to the field for the 2017 season. That meant that the team had to roll with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback this season, and the losses really piled up for them in their 3-13 season.

As they head to next season, there are certain to be a lot of changes in place. It looks as if the team is going to hire New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their next head coach, as they fired Chuck Pagano after the season. In addition, the organization expects to have Luck back healthy next season, which would certain give a huge boost to what they do on the offensive side of the ball.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Colts could use some help on the edge, and Bradley Chubb from N.C. State is the best player in this draft class at doing just that. Chubb is as explosive as they come, and in an AFC South that features Marcus Mariota and Deshaun Watson, the Colts need to be able to get after the quarterback. This team could be back in playoff contention with a healthy Luck under center next season, but if he cannot go, at least McDaniels has a history with Brissett dating back to his Patriots days.
