7. Tom Brady, New England Patriots, Super Bowl XXXVIII

In his first of many Super Bowl starts, New England Patriots Tom Brady put on an impressive performance. A sure fire Hall of Fame player, Brady performed at his best in this game, setting his career up to name him one of the best ever.

In Super Bowl XXXVIII both quarterbacks made this list. Jake Delhomme of the Carolina Panthers may not have came out on top but deserved to be on this list for his performance. Unfortunately he ran into Brady and the Patriots.

In only his second full time season as the starter Brady led the Patriots to a 14-2 record. He would go on to win Super Bowl MVP in the same season.

This game was close throughout with the largest lead being the Patriots by 11. It set the Super Bowl record for most points in a fourth quarter with 37. Both quarterbacks also threw for over 300 yards only the second time that had happened.

Brady had an outstanding game mostly to his favorite target Deion Branch. He would finish his MVP performance with 354 yards on 32-of-48 passes and three touchdowns to only one interception. Branch had 148 of those yards.

The game ended like most Brady-led Super Bowls do. He took the Patriots down the field and gave way to Adam Vinatieri to kick the game winning field goal with four second left.

This will not be the last time Brady’s name appears on this list.
