LeBron James was reportedly considering joining the Golden State Warriors this offseason according to a report, but James shot it down.

On Wednesday ESPN reporter Chris Hayes dropped an NBA bombshell on Twitter, Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James would consider joining the Golden State Warriors this coming offseason.

With a variety of moves, it would be possible for the Warriors to clear enough cap room to sign James to a max-level salary. One of the ways this could be accomplished would be a trade between the Golden State Warriors and Clevland Cavilers.

A starting lineup with Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Lebron James, and Draymond Green would dominate the league. Klay Thompson is a great player but he is no LeBron.

But NBA fans who don’t love the trend of superteams, rest easy.

“It’s nonsense and it’s a non-story,” James told reporters, via Business Inisder.

James also reportedly grew angry talking about the story.

LeBron to the Warriors would create a shift in power to the NBA that would be unrepairable. The Warriors, already league favorites, would add the best player in the league and the NBA championship would be decided before the season even started.

It also could forever tarnish James’ legacy by joining another cast of All-NBA talent in the pursuit of championship rings. James went from popular NBA figure to public enemy No. 1 by joining Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade with the Miami Heat. It was a fruitful venture, the team appeared in four straight NBA Finals and won two titles, but it had a negative impact on James’ legacy and perception.

His return to Cleveland and leading the Cavaliers to an NBA title in 2016, ending the city’s championship drought in the process, has done wonders to rebuild his positive image. All that would be put at risk if James went to the Warriors.

But James has options, and while it might not be the Warriors, he certainly has the ability to join a number of championship contending teams like the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets.
