2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Rosen goes to Broncos
By Brad Weiss
The Cincinnati Bengals struggled through an unexpectedly tough season in 2017, as they failed to make the playoffs once again. Head coach Marvin Lewis was expected to be fired if the Bengals were unsuccessful this season, but he was somehow able to keep his job. Moving forward, the Bengals appear to be in a rebuilding mode, though they do still have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball.
Quarterback Andy Dalton is a Pro Bowl signal-caller, even if he does appear to shrink in the big moments. Rookie running back Joe Mixon played well at times during his first season in the NFL, and A.J. Green is still one of the best wide receivers in football. The Bengals do have the weapons to put up points, and in the first round in April, they should look to bring in someone on the offensive line to bolster the unit.
Mike McGlinchey from Notre Dame is the best tackle this draft class has to offer, although that has been debatable in recent weeks. McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson helped the Fighting Irish be named the top offensive line unit in college football last season, and the big left tackle probably would have been a first round pick last year. Cincinnati needs to be better up front on both sides of the ball, and drafting McGlinchey in the first round would be a smart move as they prepare for the 2018 NFL season.
