2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Rosen goes to Broncos
By Brad Weiss
The Los Angeles Chargers will definitely be a team to watch next season, after putting together an incredible playoff push in 2017. The Chargers started the season off at 0-4, and only one other team had ever made it to the playoffs after starting the season off winless through their first four. Heading into Week 17, the Chargers needed to win and get help from the Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills, and while they held up their end of the bargain, the Titans and Bills did not.
Still, this Chargers team has a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, and may have the best pass rushing tandem in the AFC in Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. They also got some surprisingly good play from their secondary in 2017, so they have the pieces on defense to possibly win the AFC West next season. On offense, they also have some incredible weapons in Keenan Allen and Melvin Gordon, though they could use some help up front on the offensive line.
Last offseason, the Chargers went out and signed Russell Okung to play left tackle, and he played very well for the team in his first season with them. However, they need a long-term solution at the position, and could draft a player like Orlando Brown this late in round one. Brown is a big reason why the Oklahoma Sooners offense has been elite the last two seasons, and he is a guy that could stay on the left side of the line at the next level.
