2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Rosen goes to Broncos
By Brad Weiss
The Atlanta Falcons suffered the worst loss in Super Bowl history last year, as they blew a 28-3 fourth quarter lead to the New England Patriots. To start the 2017 season, the Falcons looked like they were still reeling from the loss, as they looked lost on both sides of the ball. The offense struggled a bit due to the fact they lost their offensive coordinator, but Steve Sarkisian really found his groove in the middle of the season, leading the team to a Wild Card spot.
Heading into next season, Sarkisian will be back with the team, and that should bode well for the offense. On the defensive side of the ball, the Falcons need to dd another playmaker, and Dewrin James from Florida State could be available this late in round one. It all depends on how James does at the combine, as he was once considered a top-5 pick, but will need to prove his injuries are behind him moving forward.
Atlanta needs help in the secondary, especially at safety, and James could be the best safety this draft class has to offer. He is also a very versatile player, playing cornerback, and serving as a return man during his time at Florida State. He has a bit of primetime in him, possessing big play ability, and this Falcons team is very close to being a Super Bowl contender once again in 2018.
