2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Rosen goes to Broncos
By Brad Weiss
The Indianapolis Colts had a rough go of it in 2017, and in the process, head coach Chuck Pagano lost his job. The real reason for their woes was the fact that Andrew Luck never made it back onto the field, after having surgery in January on his throwing shoulder. Jacoby Brissett did his best in relief of Luck, but he is not as talented as Luck, and the offense really struggled to get things going on a consistent basis.
As the team heads into 2018, they need help on both sides of the ball. Everybody in the organization expects Luck to be back, and with the eventual hire of Josh McDaniels as head coach, they will have a new man in charge of the building. McDaniels had a tough run as head coach of the Denver Broncos six years ago, but he appears poised to lead this franchise back to being a contender in the AFC South.
If Luck does return, the Colts can focus on getting better on the defensive side of the ball. They need help on the edges, and Bradley Chubb from N.C. State is the best pass rusher this draft class has to offer. He is going to be a solid player at the next level, and the Colts could use someone that can get after the quarterback, especially playing against the likes of Deshaun Watson and Marcus Mariota two times a season.
