Edge. Ohio State. Sam Hubbard. 31. player. 47.

Heading into Super Bowl LII, many expected the New England Patriots would repeat as champions of the NFL. However, the underdog Philadelphia Eagles had their number on offense all game long, putting up 41 points on the defending champs. Quarterback Tom Brady was wonderful under center, as was to  be expected, but in the end, it was a fumble by Brady that really sealed the deal for the Eagles.

Next season, this Patriots team has to get better on defense, especially against the pass. Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was able to do whatever he wanted against the Patriots, as he was hardly under pressure throughout. Picking this late in round one, the Patriots may be able to get a solid pass rusher, as Ohio State’s Sam Hubbard should be available at the bottom of the first round.

Hubbard was a big reason why the Buckeyes had an incredible defense during his time on campus, and he leaves school as a legitimate first round prospect. He has that uncanny ability to get after the quarterback, and the Patriots need to be better in that department next season. This Patriots team is going to be back in Super Bowl contention in 2018, but on Sunday night, they showed a real kink in their armor on the defensive side of the ball.
