1. New York Jets

Josh McCown had a solid season for the Jets in 2017, with 2,926 passing yards,18 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing over 67 percent of his passes in 13 games before suffering a season-ending hand injury. He is reportedly open to coming back to play for the team next season, but at 39 years old by the time Week 1 comes he should only be serving as a veteran backup to a young quarterback. Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg are clearly not the answer, so the Jets are in line to draft a quarterback sixth overall in April.

But the Jets could go another way for a veteran signal caller, and make a deal for a 29-year old Foles. How the rest of the depth chart takes shape will play a role in it, along with who else the Jets may have interest in (Kirk Cousins? Tyrod Taylor?), but on the surface Foles would have as good a chance to be their starting quarterback as anyone.

There’s some history of Super Bowl MVPs cashing in during free agency and never coming close to delivering after their moment on the NFL’s biggest stage. Foles will invite inflated trade offers that surpass what he’s likely to deliver going forward this offseason. But Eagles’ executive VP Howie Roseman could hang onto Foles into the preseason, wait for a team to lose their starting quarterback to injury and be ready to take advantage for the second time in three years.
