Philadelphia Eagles: If they can win with Foles, they can win with Wentz

The Philadelphia Eagles have done it. Even after losing Carson Wentz to a torn ACL late in the season, Nick Foles defied all the doubters and did what everyone thought he couldn’t. Now the Eagles are world champions and Foles is a Super Bowl MVP. You can’t write these kind of headlines even if you tried. The crazy part is, this victory is just the beginning for Doug Pederson’s team.

If the Eagles can do this with Foles under center, they can certainly do the same when Wentz returns. There’s still no question Wentz is undoubtedly the franchise quarterback the rest of the way. He was on his way to MVP honors before going down with the injury and won’t miss a beat next season. It’s got to be weird feeling watching a backup quarterback lead your team to a Super Bowl title but Wentz deserves as much of the credit as Foles does.

The Eagles should and will be Super Bowl favorites again next season. They’ve got the best young quarterback returning and will be even better with him for a full season. That’s a scary thought for the rest of the NFL but the Eagles are the real deal. This win wasn’t a fluke by any means.

We rarely ever see teams win back-to-back championships but the Eagles can feel confident that they have the tools to make it happen. Everyone doubted them once already and they’ll welcome it again next season. No. 11 will be the reason the Eagles bring two Lombardi trophies to the city of Brotherly Love in two seasons.
